Jonnie Peacock


Jonnie Peacock is a British sprint runner who competed in the 2012 Summer Paralympics. He won gold in th T44 100-meters event, beating his idol Oscar Pistorius, and clocking in at 10.85 seconds, which also shattered the Paralympics record for the event.

Peacock was an amputee. He lost his right leg below the knee when he was 5 years old, due to meningitis. 

He was accorded an Order of the British Empire (MBE) for his achievements.
