Romain Mesnil is a French pole vaulter. He competed in the previous three Olympics dating back to Sydney in 2000, and the last being in London in 2012. He placed 9th in the finals in his last Olympic outing. 

He once ran naked around Paris as a publicity stunt.

Raphael Varane


Raphael Varane is the French center back for the Spanish La Liga team Real Madrid. Previously he played for the French club Lens, from 2010 to 2011, after a successful stint as a youth international for France and under the youth team of Lens.

Varane was signed by Real Madrid in June 2011 with a transfer fee of 10 million euros.

Andy Murray Wins First Slam



Andy Murray of Great Britain finally won his first Grand Slam, defeating defending champion Novak Djokovic in an epic 2012 US Open final, 7-6, 7-5, 2-6, 3-6, 6-2. 

Murray is the first Briton to win a Grand Slam since 1936. Aside from Djokovic he defeated Tomas Berdych, Marin Cilic, Milos Raonic, Feliciano Lopez, Ivan Dodig and Alexander Bogomolov en route to the championship.

Murray also won the gold medal in the London Olympics men's singles event.

Andy Roddick is an American professional tennis player. He recently retired, after competing in his last match (fourth round versus Juan Martin del Potro) at the 2012 US Open. 


Roddick won one Grand Slam, at the 2003 US Open, and he also reached the finals of Wimbledon in 2004, 2005 and 2009, as well as the US Open in 2006. He reached the number 1 ranking in November 2003, spending 13 weeks at the top.
