Marcel Hirscher

Marcel Hirscher is an alpine skier from Austria, currently the reigning World Cup champion in slalom. He debuted in the World Cup in 2007, at age 18.  

Hirscher represented Austria in the 2010 Winter Olympics. He missed the podium by placing fourth in the giant slalom event and fifth in the slalom event. 

He is coached by his father, Ferdinand.

Achievements/Career Highlights: 
  • won 12 World Cup races (6 slalom and 6 giant slalom) 
  • won gold in the Junior World Championships in slalom and giant slalom 
  • 27 podium finishes in World Cup Super G, giant slalom, slalom and super combined
