Matt Jarvis


Matt Jarvis is an English football player, playing as a winger for the English Premier League team West Ham United. He previously played for Wolverhampton Wanderers (2007-12) and Gillingham (2003-07). He transfered to West Ham after a 10.75 million-pound offer.

Andy Murray


Andy Murray is a Scottish professional tennis player, currently ranked No. 4 in the world. His highest world ranking is No. 2, which he reached in August 2009. He is also the number one British player.


By winning his semifinal match against Jo-Wilfred Tsonga in 2012 Wimbledon, he became the first British to reach a Wimbledon final since 1938. He  was thrice a finalist at the Australian Open (2010, lost to Federer and 2011, lost to Djokovic) and US Open (2008, lost to Federer).

Daniel Fogg


Daniel Lee Fogg is a British swimmer. He specializes in open water swimming and in 1,500 freestyle events. He recently qualified for the 2012 London Olympics, breaking a 21-year old British record to win the 1500-m freestyle at the British Gas Swimming Championships.

Michael Bisping



Michael Bisping is a middleweight mixed martial artist, fighting in the Ultimate Fighting Championship. He was a former Cage Warriors Fighting Championship light heavyweight champion and former Cage Rage light heavyweight champion.  



Prior to a career in mix martial arts Bisping fought as a kickboxer in Britain. He then went to a hiatus, working in factories and slaughterhouses and other odd jobs, before debuting in Pride & Battle 2 in 2004. He joined the reality TV show The Ultimate Fighter in 2006, which he won. He moved down to middleweight from light-heavyweight in 2008. He is currently ranked No. 4 in the world .

Jack Laugher


Jack Laugher is an English diver. He became Great Britain's first junior world champion by winning the 1-meter and 3-meter springboard events in Tucson, Arizona. He started competing in the senior events in 2011, first in Sheffield and then in the World Championships in Shanghai.

Michael Owen


Michael Owen is professional soccer player, playing as a striker for Manchester United. He previously played for Liverpool (1996-2004), Real Madrid (2004-50), and Newcastle United (2005-09). Owen was teammates with David Beckham in Real Madrid, while he inherited the #7 shirt of Cristiano Ronaldo when he moved to Manchester.

For leading Liverpool to a very successful 2000-01 season (by which it won the League Cup, FA Cup and the UEFA Cup), Owen was awarded the Ballon d'Or, in 2001. He is the first English player in 20 years to win the award.

He also plays for England in international competitions, having seen action in Euro 2000 and 2004, and in 2002 and 2006 World Cups.

Wayne Rooney


Wayne Rooney is a British soccer player. He is currently a striker for the English Premier League team Manchester United. He previously played for Everton, from 2002-04, before transferring to Manchester. The team won two Champions League trophies (2008 and 2009) since Rooney joined.


Rooney is also a England international, debuting in senior competition at age 18 in the Euro 2004. By scoring in that competition he became England's youngest scorer. 

He also represented England in 2006 and 2010 World Cups.  Rooney is regarded as one of his country's best players.

Alastair Cook



Alastair Nathan Cook is a British cricketeer. He achieved a century during his 2006 debut for England, at age 21. He then became the youngest British cricket player to reach 1000, 2000, 3000, 4000, 5000 and 6000 test runs. 

Cook, a left-hand batsman, was appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire in 2011.
